چکیده

An analog VLSI implementation for pulse coupled neural networks of leakage free integrate-and-fire neurons is presented. The network can be used for rubust signal processing and image processing taks such as segmentation. Synchronity is achieved by adaptive local connections only. Implementation of both integrateand-fire neurons and adpative weights is developed in detail. The synchronisation capabilities are verified by simulations.

Spiking Inputs to a Winner-take-all Network

Recurrent networks that perform a winner-take-all computation have been studied extensively. Although some of these studies include spiking networks, they consider only analog input rates. We present results of this winner-take-all computation on a network of integrate-and-fire neurons which receives spike trains as inputs. We show how we can configure the connectivity in the network so that th...

Evolving Spiking Neural Networks in the GReaNs (Gene Regulatory evolving artificial Networks) Plaftorm

GReaNs (which stands for Genetic Regulatory evolving artificial Networks) is an artificial life software platform that has previously been used for modeling of evolution of gene regulatory networks able to process signals, control animats and direct multicellular development in two and three dimensions. The structure of the network in GReaNs is encoded in a linear genome, without imposing any r...

Role of STDP in regulation of neural timing networks in human: a simulation study

Many physiological events require an accurate timing signal, usually generated by neural networks called central pattern generators (CPGs). On the other hand, properties of neurons and neural networks (e.g. time constants of neurons and weights of network connections) alter with time, resulting in gradual changes in timing of such networks. Recently, a synaptic weight adjustment mechanism has b...

A configurable analog VLSI neural network with spiking neurons and self-regulating plastic synapses which classifies overlapping patterns

We summarize the implementation of an analog VLSI chip hosting a network of 32 integrate-and-fire (IF) neurons with spike-frequency adaptation and 2,048 Hebbian plastic bistable spike-driven stochastic synapses endowed with a selfregulating mechanism which stops unnecessary synaptic changes. The synaptic matrix can be flexibly configured and provides both recurrent and AER-based connectivity wi...
